Invisalign Clear Aligners

We are proud to provide Invisalign services to patients who are interested in improving the esthetics and function of their smile.

Why should you be concerned about crowded teeth?

“Crooked teeth” or teeth crowding can be a concern in some patients, who are unable to reach these tight areas to floss well. It’s extremely important that you’re able to floss the areas between to the teeth to prevent tartar build up and gum disease. The inability to do so will cause bone loss, and possibly loose teeth. Invisalign is a great treatment option to re-align the teeth and to create more space to help you maintain your gum health.

Invisalign vs. Braces

The innovation of Invisalign aligners provides patients more freedom while straightening their teeth. Because the aligners are clear, patients can wear them without worrying about how they will appear in photos. In addition, the flexibility to remove them while eating prevents food from lodging between teeth, creating a more easily cleansible treatment option vs. braces. For some patients, within a year they can achieve desired results.

What is the procedure?

At the first visit, we will take molds of your teeth which will get sent to the lab. Dr. Lin will work with them to create a custom plan that will meet your treatment goals. Next, we’ll schedule you for a ClinCheck consult, where you’ll see a video rendering of the movement of your teeth with the proposed treatment plan. Dr. Lin will discuss specific requirements for your individual case and if you approve the plan, the aligners will begin fabrication.

The second visit will be where Dr. Lin tries in the trays, adds attachments (tooth-colored bondings that anchor the trays), or possibly interproximal reductions (polishing between teeth to create more space). We will then review instructions for the aligners and go over any questions.

After that, you next visits will be short check-ups where will make sure that the teeth are tracking according to the plan.

Along the way, if anything seems to be going off-track, we may take new molds and tweak the plan to make sure we get the desired results. This may add some time to the treatment, but will be necessary to ensure the best results.

When the final tray is completed, we will take molds for Vivera retainers, which you’ll wear every night to maintain your beautiful, straight smile.

Vivera Retainers

If you’re happy with your smile and need an update on your existing retainers, we can make you a brand-new set that will be able to maintain your current tooth position.
